I have to completely disagree on wind knots with braid on spinning reels, I've exclusively used braid on my spinning reels and have never had a wind knot in 10+ years, like how are so many people having this issue?

Yeah try it with a 6 lbs main and 12 lbs leader. 😅

sounds basically like using 2# mono fishing high Sierra lakes & streams. Used 1# mono leaders as well for those super clear streams... BTW, how the heck do you see 5# braid in order to tie knots/hooks or whatever? 😮

My biggest question is do you REALLY need to get up before dawn for good fishing like trout? I know pike and walleye prefer evening.

Your only problem with this video is that you never proved the fabrication of the knot(s) to begin with…. strictly circumstantial, at best.

Be careful anchoring up current of a bridge. My trolling motor broke while I was in spot lock up current from a bridge. By the time I realized what was going on and started the main motor, I crashed into the bridge. Scuffed up the boat a bit. Hurt my ego more than anything.

use one of those deep fry skimmers.

Bow anchor rollers are cheap to get and easy to diy. It pretty much solves all of the issues with anchor strikes and chain chafing. Even without winch it allows you to pull the rope or chain further back making it more ergonomic, safer as you're further from the deck edge and better posture gives you a lot more strenght to yank that hunk of metal off the floor. I'm going to include one on my 16' lake boat when it's time for that. In my case a pound of aluminium and a roller is definitely worth it.

why do i see so many reels that are only rated between 10-20lb braid then? do we ignore those reels or specs? lol fished spinning reels my whole life, figure I'll waste a day on the water throwing a baitcaster, and respooling it.

I know this is an old video, but hoping to get a response. I use a 30# braid mainline, I use a 20# mono for my double dropper rig. What # shock leader is appropriate? 12 foot surf rod, 3 or 4 oz weight.

I struggle with pin bones. Do the pin bones vome out with the blood line?

just create a tension loop knot so unless the line snaps the knot will not snap.
